Czech & Slovak Championship 2009

First part : ORC International (ORCi) – racing boats
Terms of event: October 1st  until to October 4th 2009


Second part : ORC Club  – touristic boats
Terms of event: October 5th until to  October 8th 2009

1     RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing..
1.2 No national authority prescription will apply.
1.3 ORCi Rules and ORC Club Rules will also apply.

2    ADVERTISING
2.1 Advertising will be restricted to Category C.
2.2 All boats are required to display the supplied advertising of the event sponsors on assigned places of the hull. Advertising is available from the organising authority before the first start. Any other advertising and promotion activities concerned with the regatta before, in the time or after the event are possible on base of written agreement with organizing authority only.
2.3 The Organizing Authority may also require the installation, at no cost to competitors, onboard video cameras, or global position devices.

3    ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the class:

      Sea sailing boats – ORC International  and ORC Club

3.2 The regatta is open to all boats with valid ORCi and ORC Club - certificate complying with next rules for one of the categories:

o ORCi – racing boats

o ORC Club – touristic boats

 

3.3 Categories definition:

ORC International (ORCi) – racing boats class.
Boats with valid certificat of  ORCi 2009.

ORC Club   – touristic boats class.  
 Boats with valid certificat of  ORC Club , complying with next rules can register:
A) One mainsail from material „Dacron“ or „Dacron Sandwich“.
B) One jib or genua without battens, material  „Dacron“ – roller reefing, no
C) One Spinnaker , material Nylon

Forbidden equipment:
Exchangeable headsail – system TUFF – LUFF (headsail with  headfoil )
Kevlar, Spectra, Mylar, Carbon, Aramid materials for the sails
More than one headsail onboard during the regatta
More than one spinnaker onboard during the regatta
Composite material for mast, boom and spinnaker pole

ORC ONE DESIGN SALONA 37 (ORC S37)
Boats will be provided by the organizing authority with turistic – sportive equipment.  No equipment changes or alterations are permitted. Boats provided by organizing authority will be available in limited number of 12. Boats not provided by the organising authority shall be equipped identically with those, supplied by the organising authority. If boat is assigned as not identically equipped by the measurer, it will start in the class ORC Club.


3.4 At lest one member of the crew shall have valid licence corresponding to the racing area. At least one member of the crew shall have valid licence for VHF station control

3.5 Eligible boats may enter till the 15th August 2009 by

4    FEES
Required fees are as follows:

The price includes moorings in marinas, with all included service, social program and refreshment.
For ORC S 37, the  fee covers the charter for regatta  fee from October 3rd untill to October 10th 2009, payment for boat cleaning and spinnaker.

5    SCHEDULE

 
5.1 Entry and starting fee dead line 15th August 2009.

5.2 Lottery and boats takeover:

October 3rd 2009 from 12:00 till 13:00 – Lottery ORC S37, Marina Kremik, Primošten, October 3rd 2009 from 16:00 till 21:00 – Takeover ORC S37 Marina Kremik, Primošten,

5.3 Registration:

    

 Registration ORCi – first part:

      October 1st 2009 from 17:00 till 22:00 – RC office in Olive Island Marina

    

 Registration ORC Club  – second part:

      October 5th 2009 from 17:00 till 22:00 – RC office in Olive Island Marina


The following documents shall be presented at registration :
•    duly filled out and signed entry list with name, surname, birth date and sailing licence number for each member of the crew
•    Valid  ORC CLUB or ORCi Certificate
•    the fee payment confirmation
The advertising of the event sponsors and the boat numbers will be hand over to the registered boats.

6     MEASUREMENTS
Each boat of classes shall present a valid certificate ORC Club or ORCi. It is impossible to cover all  measurement at the place. The organizing authority can arrange, after negotiation, only limited measurement of the sails.

7      SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available before the time of registration at the notice board of the Race committee in Olive Island Marina.


8     VENUE    
Neighbourhood of Island Ugljan and adjacent waters of the Middle Adriatic see.


9    THE COURSES
Regatta stall be organized with the goal to complete three race on the 1st  and 3rd Day at favourable weather conditions. On the 2nd Day an off-shore  race is foreseen/ planned. The length of the off-shore race is planned for  aproximately 40nm. In that case the race shall be scored as two „race  scores“(races). The first score of the off-shore race will be rated from  the start line to the „first half“ of the distance. The second score of  the off-shore race will be rated from the start line to the finish line.  Off-shore race is mapped out in the surroundings of Ugljan island, having  the start and finish line in front of  Olive Island Marina.

10    PENALTY SYSTEM
Rules 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that only one turn, including one tack and one gybe, is required.

11    SCORING
 (a)     When fewer than 3 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
(b)    When from 4 to 8 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score.

12    HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS
Keel boats shall not be hauled out during the regatta except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the race committee.

13     PRIZES
If less than 5 boats enter in a Class, no prizes will be given to the Class.

14     MEDIA RIGHTS
Competitors, owners and their guests give absolute right and permission to the Organizing Authority for any photography and video footage taken of persons and boats during the event, to be published and/or broadcast in any media, including but not limited to TV advertisements, whatsoever for either editorial or advertising purposes or to be used in press information.

15    DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

16    INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1.500.000 EUR per event or the equivalent.
